Alternate Names
cAMP-specific cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase 8A; high affinity cAMP-specific and IBMX-insensitive 3',5'-cyclic phosphodiesterase 8A; HsT19550
Description (eCommerce)
Phosphodiesterase 8A (PDE8A) is a member of a large family of phosphodiesterases (PDEs) that regulate the intracellular levels of cAMP and cGMP. These cyclic nucleotides play an important role as second messengers in multiple physiologic processes, including regulation of vascular resistance, cardiac output, visceral motility, immune response, inflammation, neuroplasticity, vision, and reproduction [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 5151)].
Description (Vector)
PDE8A belongs to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) family, and PDE8 subfamily. This PDE hydrolyzes the second messenger, cAMP, which is a regulator and mediator of a number of cellular responses to extracellular signals. Thus, by regulating the cellular concentration of cAMP, this protein plays a key role in many important physiological processes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
