Alternate Names
PAR4; Par-4; PRKC apoptosis WT1 regulator protein; PRKC, apoptosis, WT1, regulator; Prostate apoptosis response 4 protein; prostate apoptosis response protein 4; prostate apoptosis response protein PAR-4; prostate apoptosis response-4; transcriptional repressor PAR4; WT1-interacting protein
Description (eCommerce)
Par4 (prostate apoptosis response-4) was identified in a differential screen for pro-apoptotic genes in a prostate carcinoma cell line. Par4 activates apoptosis via the Fas prodeath pathway and by inhibition of NF-kappa-B transcriptional activity. Par4 may be a tumor suppressor. It has been shown to interact with a wide variety of proteins including atypical PKCs, and the Wilms’ tumor suppressor.
Description (Vector)
The tumor suppressor WT1 represses and activates transcription. The protein encoded by this gene is a WT1-interacting protein that itself functions as a transcriptional repressor. It contains a putative leucine zipper domain which interacts with the zinc finger DNA binding domain of WT1. This protein is specifically upregulated during apoptosis of prostate cells.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
