Alternate Names
histone demethylase JARID1A; Jumonji, AT rich interactive domain 1A (RBP2-like); jumonji/ARID domain-containing protein 1A; lysine (K)-specific demethylase 5A; lysine-specific demethylase 5A; RBBP2; RBBP-2; RBP2; retinoblastoma binding protein 2; Retinoblastoma-binding protein 2
Description (eCommerce)
JARID1A/RBP2 is a member of the jumonji (jmj) domain containing gene family of histone demethylases that plays a role in chromatin regulation and influences transcriptional activation and suppression. Some recently characterized members of the jmj family include JARID1A/RBP2, JARID1C, JMJD1A, JMJD1B, JMJD1C, JMJD2A, JMJD2C and JMJD2D. JARID1A/RBP2 functions to specifically demethylate lys-4 of histone 3 and interacts with the tumor suppressor protein pRb.
Description (Vector)
KDM5A is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein. It binds directly, with several other proteins, to retinoblastoma protein which regulates cell proliferation. This protein also interacts with rhombotin-2 which functions distinctly in erythropoiesis and in T-cell leukemogenesis. Rhombotin-2 is thought to either directly affect the activity of the encoded protein or may indirectly modulate the functions of the retinoblastoma protein by binding to this protein.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
