Alternate Names
arf-GAP with Rho-GAP domain, ANK repeat and PH domain-containing protein 1; ARF-GAP, RHO-GAP, ankyrin repeat, and pleckstrin homology domains-containing protein 1; centaurin-delta-2; CENTD2; cnt-d2
Description (eCommerce)
CENTD2/ARAP1 is an adapter protein that functions as an Arf 1 and Rho GTPase-activation protein. CENTD2/ARAP1 associates with the Golgi and appears to play a role in cytoskeleton remodeling as well as membrane receptor recycling and trafficking.
Description (Vector)
ARAP1 contains SAM, ARF-GAP, RHO-GAP, ankyrin repeat, RAS-associating, and pleckstrin homology (PH) domains. In vitro, this protein displays RHO-GAP and phosphatidylinositol (3,4,5) trisphosphate (PIP3)-dependent ARF-GAP activity. The encoded protein associates with the Golgi, and the ARF-GAP activity mediates changes in the Golgi and the formation of filopodia. It is thought to regulate the cell-specific trafficking of a receptor protein involved in apoptosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
