Alternate Names
AF4/FMR2 family member 4; AF5Q31; ALL1-fused gene from chromosome 5q31 protein; CHOPS; major CDK9 elongation factor-associated protein; MCEF; Protein AF-5q31
Description (eCommerce)
Major CDK9 elongation factor-associated protein (MCEF) is also known as AFF4 AF4/FMR2 family member 4. This family of proteins includes the AF4 proto-oncogene and FMR2 (fragile X E mental retardation syndrome) nuclear proteins. MCEF is a component of the cyclin-dependent kinase pair (CDK9/cyclin T1) complex. A chromosomal aberration involving AFF4 is found in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
Description (Vector)
AFF4 belongs to the AF4 family of transcription factors involved in leukemia. It is a component of the positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) complex. A chromosomal translocation involving this gene and MLL gene on chromosome 11 is found in infant acute lymphoblastic leukemia with ins(5;11)(q31;q31q23).

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
