Description (eCommerce)
FOXO4 (fork-head box O4) is a fork-head DNA-binding domain containing protein and functions as a transcription factor involved in the regulation of the insulin signaling pathway. FOXO4 binds to insulin-response elements (IREs) and can activate transcription of IGFBP1. It also down-regulates expression of HIF1A and suppresses hypoxia-induced transcriptional activation of HIF1A-modulated genes, and is involved in the negative regulation of the cell cycle [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P98177].
Description (Vector)
FOXO4 encodes a member of the O class of winged helix/forkhead transcription factor family. Proteins encoded by this class are regulated by factors involved in growth and differentiation indicating they play a role in these processes. A translocation involving this gene on chromosome X and the homolog of the Drosophila trithorax gene, encoding a DNA binding protein, located on chromosome 11 is associated with leukemia. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
