Alternate Names
AUTS19; CBP; eIF4E; eIF-4E; EIF4E1; EIF4EL1; EIF4F; eIF-4F 25 kDa subunit; eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E; eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-like 1; mRNA cap-binding protein
Description (eCommerce)
eIF4E is a component of the EIF4F initiation complex (eIF4A, eIF4E, eIF4G) that is involved in the processes of mRNA cap recognition, poly (A) binding, and the recruitment of mRNA to the ribosome during protein synthesis. eIF4E plays a role in binding the 5’cap of the mRNA for translation initiation.
Description (Vector)
EIF4E is a component of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4F complex, which recognizes the 7-methylguanosine cap structure at the 5' end of cellular mRNAs. The encoded protein aids in translation initiation by recruiting ribosomes to the mRNA. Association of this protein with the 4F complex is the rate-limiting step in translation initiation. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
