Description (eCommerce)
PBEF is also known as visfatin and was first identified as a factor that enhanced the differentiation of B-cells. It is a secreted factor that is highly expressed in adipocytes. Intracellularly, PBEF acts as a cytosolic enzyme involved in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) synthesis. PBEF levels positively correlate with obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus and can bind the insulin receptor to lower blood sugar.
Description (Vector)
NAMPT encodes a protein that catalyzes the condensation of nicotinamide with 5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate to yield nicotinamide mononucleotide, one step in the biosynthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. The protein belongs to the nicotinic acid phosphoribosyltransferase (NAPRTase) family and is thought to be involved in many important biological processes, including metabolism, stress response and aging. NAMPT has a pseudogene on chromosome 10.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
