Description (eCommerce)
PYCR1 is a housekeeping enzyme that catalyzes the last step in proline biosynthesis. It can utilize both NAD and NADP, but has higher affinity for NAD. PYCR1 is involved in the cellular response to oxidative stress [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P32322].
Description (Vector)
PYCR1 encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the NAD(P)H-dependent conversion of pyrroline-5-carboxylate to proline. This enzyme may also play a physiologic role in the generation of NADP(+) in some cell types. The protein forms a homopolymer and localizes to the mitochondrion. Alternate splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
