human E-Cadherin shRNA Adenovirus

Name
Ad-h-E-Cadherin-shRNA
Cat No
1829
Availability
Immediate

This is an pre-made gene silencing adenovirus that expresses a shRNA to knockdown human E-Cadherin gene. The shRNA expression is driven by an U6 promoter.

The knockdown of this human gene was validated by qPCR in A549 cells.

Description (eCommerce)
Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins that preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in adjacent cells. E-Cadherin, or Cadherin-1, is involved in mechanisms regulating cell-cell adhesions, mobility and proliferation of epithelial cells and has a potent invasive suppressor role. It is a ligand for integrin alpha-E/beta-7. [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P12830].
Description (Vector)
CDH1 is a classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily. The encoded protein is a calcium dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein comprised of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region and a highly conserved cytoplasmic tail. Mutations in this gene are correlated with gastric, breast, colorectal, thyroid and ovarian cancer. Loss of function is thought to contribute to progression in cancer by increasing proliferation, invasion, and/or metastasis. The ectodomain of this protein mediates bacterial adhesion to mammalian cells and the cytoplasmic domain is required for internalization. Identified transcript variants arise from mutation at consensus splice sites.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
