The GATA family of transcription factors, including GATA-1, GATA-2, GATA-3, GATA-4, GATA-5 and GATA-6, bind the consensus DNA sequence 5′-WGATAR-3′. A related factor, OSP-1, also binds to this sequence. Members of the GATA family share a conserved zinc finger DNA-binding domain but differ in their patterns of expression. GATA1 plays an important role in erythroid development by regulating the switch of fetal hemoglobin to adult hemoglobin. Mutations in this gene have been associated with X-linked dyserythropoietic anemia and thrombocytopenia.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
