Description (eCommerce)
Cellular retinoic acid binding protein 2 (CRABP2) is a coactivator present in the retinoic acid (RA)-dependent nuclear complex. CRABP2 has been shown to mediate retinoic acid activity in skin to influence skin cell growth and differentiation. It has also been shown to mediate the growth suppressive effects of retinoic acid in breast cancer. CRABP2’s role in cell differentiation may be linked to control of the cell-cycle since it has been identified as an interacting partner of cyclin D3 in CRABPII and RAR ternary complex.
Description (Vector)
CRABP2 encodes a member of the retinoic acid (RA, a form of vitamin A) binding protein family and lipocalin/cytosolic fatty-acid binding protein family. The protein is a cytosol-to-nuclear shuttling protein, which facilitates RA binding to its cognate receptor complex and transfer to the nucleus. It is involved in the retinoid signaling pathway, and is associated with increased circulating low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
