Alternate Names
dolichyl-diphosphooligosaccharide--protein glycosyltransferase 63 kDa subunit; dolichyl-diphosphooligosaccharide--protein glycosyltransferase subunit 2; oligosaccharyltransferase complex subunit (non-catalytic); RIBIIR; Ribophorin II; ribophorin-2; RPNII; RPN-II; SWP1
Description (eCommerce)
Ribophorin II (RPN2) is an essential subunit of the N-oligosaccharyl transferase (OST) complex which catalyzes the transfer of a high mannose oligosaccharide from a lipid-linked oligosaccharide donor to an asparagine residue within an Asn-X-Ser/Thr consensus motif in nascent polypeptide chains [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P04844].
Description (Vector)
RPN2 encodes a type I integral membrane protein found only in the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The encoded protein is part of an N-oligosaccharyl transferase complex that links high mannose oligosaccharides to asparagine residues found in the Asn-X-Ser/Thr consensus motif of nascent polypeptide chains. This protein is similar in sequence to the yeast oligosaccharyl transferase subunit SWP1. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
