AAV with MBP promoter driven Venus
This AAV expresses Venus driven by an olgiodendricyte MBP promoter.
The myelin basic proteins (MBPs) are a family of polypeptides that are predominantly expressed in the nervous system, where they play a major role in myelination. This 1.3 Kb mouse MBP promoter drives reporter gene expression mainly in oligodendrocytes.
Like mCitrine and EYFP, Venus was developed in an effort to get better variants of YFP in terms of brightness and photo-stability. Venus has an Excitation/Emission spectrum of 515nm/529nm which is almost identical to that of EYFP and mCitrine.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
