TTK is a cell-cycle regulated dual-specificity kinase that is part of the Mps1 family of kinases. TTK has been shown to interact with Chk2, a cell cycle checkpoint kinase, to mediate cellular responses to DNA damage. TTK has also been shown to be localized from the kinetochore to the centrosome at the entrance of anaphase, and required for mitotic spindle maintenance through the interaction with TACC2.

TTK encodes a dual specificity protein kinase with the ability to phosphorylate tyrosine, serine and threonine. Associated with cell proliferation, this protein is essential for chromosome alignment at the centromere during mitosis and is required for centrosome duplication. It has been found to be a critical mitotic checkpoint protein for accurate segregation of chromosomes during mitosis. Tumorigenesis may occur when this protein fails to degrade and produces excess centrosomes resulting in aberrant mitotic spindles. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt.
