Alternative splicing factor (ASF) is a member of the serine and arginine-rich family of proteins (SR proteins) which function as regulators of pre-mRNA splicing. ASF is a multifunctional RNA binding protein involved in pre-mRNA splicing, mRNA export, and mRNA translation.
Description (Vector)
SRSF1 encodes a member of the arginine/serine-rich splicing factor protein family, and functions in both constitutive and alternative pre-mRNA splicing. The protein binds to pre-mRNA transcripts and components of the spliceosome, and can either activate or repress splicing depending on the location of the pre-mRNA binding site. The protein's ability to activate splicing is regulated by phosphorylation and interactions with other splicing factor associated proteins. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. In addition, a pseudogene of this gene has been found on chromosome 13.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
