Description (eCommerce)
Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD) is an enzyme involved in fatty acid biosynthesis, primarily the synthesis of oleic acid. SCD belongs to the fatty acid desaturase family and is an integral membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 6319)].
Description (Vector)
SCD encodes an enzyme involved in fatty acid biosynthesis, primarily the synthesis of oleic acid. Transcripts of approximately 3.9 and 5.2 kb, differing only by alternative polyadenlyation signals, have been detected. A gene encoding a similar enzyme is located on chromosome 4 and a pseudogene of this gene is located on chromosome 17.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
