Alternate Names
glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta-interacting protein; GSK3B-interacting protein; hNinein; ninein; ninein (GSK3B interacting protein); ninein centrosomal protein; SCKL7
Description (eCommerce)
Ninein is a centrosomal protein that associates with the minus-end of microtubules. It serves as an anchor and nucleation point for microtubule elongation from the pericentriolar material (PCM). Ninein also acts as an anchoring protein at apical sites in polarized epithelial cells to assemble non-centrosomal apico-basal arrays.
Description (Vector)
NIN encodes one of the proteins important for centrosomal function. This protein is important for positioning and anchoring the microtubules minus-ends in epithelial cells. Localization of this protein to the centrosome requires three leucine zippers in the central coiled-coil domain. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms have been reported.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
