Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
DNA ligase 1; DNA ligase I; ligase I, DNA, ATP-dependent; polydeoxyribonucleotide synthase ATP 1
Description (eCommerce)
DNA ligase 1 catalyzes the joining of double-stranded DNA ends during replication, recombination, and repair. Structurally, DNA ligase 1 is toroidal and encircles nicked DNA substrates. The 9-1-1 complex, a DNA damage checkpoint complex, has been reported to associate with DNA ligase 1 and stimulate ligase activity. Mutations in DNA ligase 1 result in immunodeficiency and increased sensitivity to DNA-damaging agents.
Description (Vector)
LIG1 encodes DNA ligase I, with functions in DNA replication and the base excision repair process. Mutations in LIG1 that lead to DNA ligase I deficiency result in immunodeficiency and increased sensitivity to DNA-damaging agents.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
