Description (eCommerce)
Axl is a receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) that binds the ligand Gas6 (growth-arrest specific gene). It is part of a sub-family of RTKs that includes Axl, SKY and MER. The Axl gene was first identified as a transforming cDNA isolated from patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia. Axl-Gas6 signaling is implicated in cellular responses such as cell survival, proliferation, migration, and adhesion, and it may be involved in cancer progression.
Description (Vector)
AXL is a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase subfamily. Although it is similar to other receptor tyrosine kinases, this protein represents a unique structure of the extracellular region that juxtaposes IgL and FNIII repeats. It transduces signals from the extracellular matrix into the cytoplasm by binding growth factors like vitamin K-dependent protein growth-arrest-specific gene 6. It is involved in the stimulation of cell proliferation and can also mediate cell aggregation by homophilic binding. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
