Alternate Names
actin, aortic smooth muscle; ACTSA; Alpha-actin-2; alpha-cardiac actin; cell growth-inhibiting gene 46 protein
Description (eCommerce)
Alpha Smooth Muscle Actin is one of six different actin proteins, all of which are highly conserved and involved in cell motility, structure, integrity, and intercellular signaling. Alpha Smooth Muscle Actin is involved in vascular contractility and blood pressure homeostasis. [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 59)].
Description (Vector)
ACTA2 belongs to the actin family of proteins, which are highly conserved proteins that play a role in cell motility, structure and integrity. Alpha, beta and gamma actin isoforms have been identified, with alpha actins being a major constituent of the contractile apparatus, while beta and gamma actins are involved in the regulation of cell motility. This actin is an alpha actin that is found in skeletal muscle. Defects in this gene cause aortic aneurysm familial thoracic type 6. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
