Description (eCommerce)
CEP41 (centrosomal protein of 41 kDa) is the protein product of the testis-specific gene A14 (TSGA14). TSGA14 was originally identified as a gene adjacent to the imprinted gene MEST. Studies of TSGA14 revealed that unlike MEST, TSGA14 is not an imprinted gene. CEP41 was also identified as a true centrosomal protein in a mass-spectometry-based proteomic analysis of human centrosomes. The role of CEP41 in the centrosome remains uncharacterized.
Description (Vector)
CEP41 encodes a centrosomal and microtubule-binding protein which is predicted to have two coiled-coil domains and a rhodanese domain. In human retinal pigment epithelial cells the protein localized to centrioles and cilia. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Joubert Syndrome 15; an autosomal recessive ciliopathy and neurological disorder. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
