Gene Reference Data

Alternate Names
sorting nexin-16
Description (eCommerce)
Sorting nexin-16 (SNX16) may be involved in several stages of intracellular trafficking. SNX16 plays a role in protein transport from early to late endosomes. It also plays a role in protein transport to the lysosome and in intracellular transport of vesicular stomatitis virus nucleocapsids from the endosome to the cytoplasm [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P57768].
Description (Vector)
SNX16 encodes a member of the sorting nexin family. Members of this family contain a phox (PX) domain, which is a phosphoinositide binding domain, and are involved in intracellular trafficking. The function of this protein has not been determined. SNX16 results in three transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
