Description (eCommerce)
Sec23IP is a protein found to interact with Sec23p which is part of COPII that coats vesicles involved in protein transport from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the golgi. COPII consists of Sar 1p and two protein complexes made up of Sec23p-Sec24p, and Sec13p-Sec31p. It appears that Sec23IP makes an important contribution to the organization of ER exit sites.
Description (Vector)
SEC23IP encodes a member of the phosphatidic acid preferring-phospholipase A1 family. The encoded protein is localized to endoplasmic reticulum exit sites and plays a critical role in ER-Golgi transport as part of the multimeric coat protein II complex. An orthologous gene in frogs is required for normal neural crest cell development, suggesting that this gene may play a role in Waardenburg syndrome neural crest defects. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
