Alternate Names

Description (eCommerce)
hPrp3p (human pre-mRNA splicing factor 3) was identified as a factor that associated with U4/U6 snRNPs which are components of the splicesome. hPrp3p is homologous to S. cerevisiae splicing factor Prp3p. Mutations in the PRPF3 gene are associated with retinitis pigmentosa-18. It has been determined that mutations in hPrp3p may alter the recognition motif for phosphorylation by casein kinase II (CKII) and that loss of phosphorylation may result in aberrant interactions within the U4/U6 snRNP complex.
Description (Vector)
The removal of introns from nuclear pre-mRNAs occurs on complexes called spliceosomes, which are made up of 4 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) particles and an undefined number of transiently associated splicing factors. This gene product is one of several proteins that associate with U4 and U6 snRNPs. Mutations in this gene are associated with retinitis pigmentosa-18.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
