The Apoptosis-Stimulating Protein of P53 (ASPP) family of proteins is comprised of ASPP1, ASPP2 and iASPP. 53BP2 is now recognized to be the C-terminal 528 amino acids of ASPP2. ASPP1 and ASPP2 function to direct the cell away from cell cycle arrest and towards death by activating p53 family members, while iASPP functions to inhibit p53 mediated apoptosis. ASPP proteins have been shown to interact with p53, Bcl-2, and ReLA/p65.
Description (Vector)
PPP1R13B encodes a member of the ASPP (apoptosis-stimulating protein of p53) family of p53 interacting proteins. The protein contains four ankyrin repeats and an SH3 domain involved in protein-protein interactions. ASPP proteins are required for the induction of apoptosis by p53-family proteins. They promote DNA binding and transactivation of p53-family proteins on the promoters of proapoptotic genes. Expression of this gene is regulated by the E2F transcription factor.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
