Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-beta (PGC-1beta) is a member of a family of transcriptional coactivators that play a role in metabolism and whole-body homeostasis. PGC-1beta has been shown to be a co-activator of the estrogen receptor alpha, glucocorticoid receptor, and the nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF1). Additionally PGC-1beta is suggested to be integral to mitochondrial function and glucose metabolism.
Description (Vector)
PPARGC1B stimulates the activity of several transcription factors and nuclear receptors, including estrogen receptor alpha, nuclear respiratory factor 1, and glucocorticoid receptor. The encoded protein may be involved in fat oxidation, non-oxidative glucose metabolism, and the regulation of energy expenditure. This protein is downregulated in prediabetic and type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Certain allelic variations in this gene increase the risk of the development of obesity. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years).
