Alternate Names
OGFr; opioid growth factor receptor; protein 7-60; zeta-type opioid receptor
Description (eCommerce)
Opioid growth factor receptor (OGFR) is a receptor for opioid growth factor (OGF), also known as Met-enkephalin. OGFR seems to be involved in growth regulation [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q9NZT2].
Description (Vector)
OGFR is a receptor for opioid growth factor (OGF), also known as (Met(5))-enkephalin. OGF is a negative regulator of cell proliferation and tissue organization in a variety of processes. The encoded unbound receptor for OGF has been localized to the outer nuclear envelope, where it binds OGF and is translocated into the nucleus. The coding sequence of this gene contains a polymorphic region of 60 nt tandem imperfect repeat units. Several transcripts containing between zero and eight repeat units have been reported.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
