endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) is one of four major isoforms of nitric oxide synthase (NOS). The four isoforms, neuronal NOS, endothelial NOS, inducible NOS, and mitochondrial NOS, catalyze the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO) from L-arginine and oxygen. NO is a small free radical that functions as a key signaling molecule in the cardiovascular and neural systems. eNOS is responsible for most of the NO production in the vascular system where it mediates smooth muscle relaxation, angiogenesis, and clotting.

Nitric oxide is a reactive free radical which acts as a biologic mediator in several processes, including neurotransmission and antimicrobial and antitumoral activities. Nitric oxide is synthesized from L-arginine by nitric oxide synthases. Variations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to coronary spasm. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions
All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
