Description (eCommerce)
FHL2 is a member of the four-and-a-half-LIM-domain protein family which consists of FHL1, FHL2, FHL3, FHL4, and ACT. The LIM domain is a cysteine-rich motif that mediates protein-protein interactions. FHL2 has been shown to function as a transcriptional cofactor and through its LIM domains, interact with a variety of factors which include the androgen receptor, CREB, AP-1, Runx3, SRF, FOXO1, BRCA1 and the HPV-16 E7 oncoprotein. FHL2 has been demonstrated to play an important role in heart and bone development and may influence cancer cell growth.
Description (Vector)
FHL2 encodes a member of the four-and-a-half-LIM-only protein family. Family members contain two highly conserved, tandemly arranged, zinc finger domains with four highly conserved cysteines binding a zinc atom in each zinc finger. This protein is thought to have a role in the assembly of extracellular membranes. Also, this gene is down-regulated during transformation of normal myoblasts to rhabdomyosarcoma cells and the encoded protein may function as a link between presenilin-2 and an intracellular signaling pathway. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
