Description (eCommerce)
ERC1 (ELKS/RAB6-interacting/CAST family member 1) is a regulatory subunit of the IkappaB kinase (IKK) complex. ERC1 probably recruits IkappaBalpha/NFKBIA to the IKK complex. ERC1 may be involved in the organization of the cytomatrix at the nerve terminals active zone (CAZ) which regulates neurotransmitter release, and may also be involved in vesicle trafficking at the CAZ. ERC1 is also likely involved in Rab-6 regulated endosomes-to- Golgi transport [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q8IUD2].
Description (Vector)
ERC1 is a member of a family of RIM-binding proteins. RIMs are active zone proteins that regulate neurotransmitter release. This gene has been found fused to the receptor-type tyrosine kinase gene RET by gene rearrangement due to the translocation t(10;12)(q11;p13). Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
