Description (eCommerce)
Elongation factor 1-delta (EF-1delta) is one of four subunits of the elongation factor-1 complex, a non-ribosomal complex that is involved in delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. EF-1 is composed of EF-1alpha, EF-1beta, EF-1delta, and EF-1gamma. EF-1beta and EF-delta function as guanine nucleotide exchange factors and stimulate the exchange of GDP bound to EF-1 alpha for GTP.
Description (Vector)
EEF1D encodes a subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex, which is responsible for the enzymatic delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. This subunit, delta, functions as guanine nucleotide exchange factor. It is reported that following HIV-1 infection, this subunit interacts with HIV-1 Tat. This interaction results in repression of translation of host cell proteins and enhanced translation of viral proteins. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been found for this gene. Related pseudogenes have been defined on chromosomes 1, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 17, 19.

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
