Alternate Names
20 kDa CGG-binding protein; CGG triplet repeat-binding protein 1; CGG-binding protein 1; CGGBP; p20-CGG binding protein; p20-CGGBP; p20-CGGBP DNA-binding protein
Description (eCommerce)
CGG triplet repeat binding protein 1 (CGGBP1) binds to nonmethylated 5'-d(CGG)(n)-3' trinucleotide repeats in the FMR1 promoter. CGGBP1 may play a role in regulating FMR1 promoter [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q14789].
Description (Vector)
CGGBP1 influences expression of the FMR1 gene (MIM 309550), which is associated with the fragile X mental retardation syndrome (MIM 300624), by specifically interacting with the 5-prime (CGG)n-3-prime repeat in its 5-prime UTR.(supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008)

About Storage Conditions

All our viral products should be kept at -80°C. At this temperature, the virus will remain stable for 6-12 months (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Once thawed, the product can be stored at 4°C for 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity. We recommend aliquoting your vectors into low protein binding tubes upon receipt. This helps avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as well as prevent loss of virus. To maintain accurate titer, aliquot in at least 20ul per tube.
